Report: The center for gender studies

Introduction
The purpose of this report is to describe and evaluate my four-week experience at the university's gender studies center and to make recommendations for future students.

About the center
The center for gender studies is a research center of the University of Chile that is dedicated to investigating gender issues, labor relations, motherhood, sexual dissidence, and feminist theories. At the center, 35 researchers work, all women, and the tasks are divided into four working groups: qualitative research, quantitative research, theory analysis and publication of results. In addition to this, the 35 researchers meet every 15 days to discuss new research, ongoing research, and new ideas.

My work experience
My work experience was very enriching, the work team is very friendly, the work environment is incredibly good, organized under the guidelines of horizontality, respect, and communication. In the four months that I was at the center, I was able to work each month with one of the work groups. My favorite was the qualitative research group, although the publication of results also gave me a lot of knowledge and skills.

General comments
The researchers have managed to create a good work dynamic and have organized the functions of the center very well, this facilitates the tasks and allows each one to be clear about their tasks, all this not without inconveniences as in all workplaces, for example problems with the website, cut delivery times, etc. But the coordinators ensure that it is a joint effort and that the goals can be achieved.

Conclusions
The center for gender studies is a place where any student interested in gender issues would be happy to work, the environment and learning opportunities are unique, as well as the people with whom you will work.
